Healthy Living Week in college takes place during February each year and raises awareness about making choices every day that will keep us fit physically, mentally and spiritually.
Healthy Living Week is about much, much more than just going for a walk, it is about realising how your diet, activity and actions all inter-connect and have an overwhelming influence over your experience during your college years.
Food and exercise
Our food choices each day affect our Health – how you feel each day, to how you feel now, to how you will be feeling in the future.
Good nutrition is a very important part of leading a healthy lifestyle. Combined with physical activities, your diet can help you to reach and maintain a healthy weight. This reduces your risk of chronic diseases (like heart disease and cancer) and promotes your overall health.
By taking the step to eat healthy and exercise, you’ll be on your way to getting the nutrients your body needs to stay healthy, active and strong. Making a small change in your diet can go a long way and it’s easier than you think.
